Twin Anchors Marine

Published in the January 2014 Issue January 2014 News

Twin Anchors Marine has been owned and operated by the same family since 1977, the longest continuous ownership in the industry. Prior to the turndown in the houseboat market, Twin Anchors added accommodation units to its product mix. The demand for these deluxe “camps” by the oil and gas exploration and mining industries has allowed Twin Anchors to retain its workforce and produce over 100 units in 2013. The houseboat business looks promising for 2014 and the Canadian builder is currently planning for two large commercial orders, plus some private boats.

All Twin Anchors boats feature an exclusive unitized cabin and bridge. Its engineered bridgedeck truss system and no bearing interior walls, allow for cathedral ceilings and complete freedom with floorplan design. This unitized construction is also found in the standard equipment hot tub surround and built-in bridge deck seating, all molded in rather than added on. In addition to being NMMA certified, Twin Anchors is an ISO 9000 registered company, assuring customers a quality control system second to none. In 2011 Twin Anchors achieved CE certification, paving the way for a growing market in Europe and Asia. Negotiations are underway to build Twin Anchors Houseboats under license in Seoul, Korea for the Asian market.

Twin Anchors Marine had an excellent year in 2013. Besides the houseboats we have built for the past 36 years, the addition of accommodation units has allowed us to maximize production and keep over 110 people at work in the factory.

Manufacturer's comment

"Twin Anchors boats feature an exclusive unitized cabin and bridge that gets us away from the ‘bolt on’ look. Our unique engineered truss system and unitized construction results in no joints, no leaks and no rot!" Nigel Lamb, Twin Anchors
