Behind The Thoroughbred Name

May 2016 Feature

In 1996, Rod Parrish rounded up local craftsmen to create one of Kentucky’s best-built custom houseboats. Their first build rolled off the assembly line a year later and Thoroughbred Houseboats has been producing excellent custom houseboats ever since, culminating in the merger with Trifecta Ventures last year.

Often showing off the glass-sided look that has become so popular around the country, each build features an insulated glass front wall for an unbeatable view of the water, with an aim towards being the best “Glass on the Water” houseboat on the market. Anyone can appreciate how this unique technique opens up the interior of a boat.

Thoroughbred has emphasized developing more fiberglass parts while maintaining its talent with developing exterior yacht-style LED lighting and smooth front and back exterior soffit surfaces. With a strong value placed on implementing customer-driven improvements, this manufacturer has been a long-standing example of exceeding expectations for quality, satisfaction and design.

As with Sumerset and Stardust, Thoroughbred offers Trifecta Ventures customers their full transportation, service and renovation services.
