Wild Storm Caught On Video

July 2016 News Web Exclusive

Getting caught in an unexpected storm is never fun, but sometimes it can be downright dangerous. The Washington Post recently shared this video captured by a houseboater at Fish Springs Marina on Watauga Lake, Tenn., when a sudden microburst tore through the area. The ferocity of the wind is evident as loose belongings from a neighbor’s boat are flung about and branches and leaves are yanked right from the trees, making a rough time of things for an unfortunate houseboater stuck out in the gale.

This storm was part of a line of burly thunderstorms that moved through Tennessee that Friday night, causing a wave of over 300 severe wind reports that were submitted to the National Weather Service. You can check out the whole story here.
