Have you ever been to Lake Tahoe? Scenic and vast, this lake is the largest alpine lake in North America. This lake straddles the state line of California and Nevada, and it’s the largest lake in volume just after the five great lakes. If you’ve ever seen it, you know just how beautiful it is.
In 1957, the League to Save Lake Tahoe was formed and they have been on the “Keep Tahoe Blue” campaign ever since. This year they celebrate 60 years of dedication to protecting Lake Tahoe.
In order to “Keep Tahoe Blue,” the league focuses on four main areas:
- Combatting Polution
- Promoting Restoration
- Tackling Invasive Species
- Protecting the Shoreline
