Wonder what's with the total lack of support. Can't say it's a huge surprise. I gave up on the magazine people when I tried to go to their in-water houseboat show on the lake in Kentucky a couple of years ago, and got NO response to my e-mailed-in-advance query about transportation from the airport a couple of miles away. Not even so much as a friendly 'drop dead, we don't want your money' suggestion. Since it wasn't far out of my way eastbound from a destination farther west, I took a chance, and landed my wee airplane at the county airport anyway, found there was no courtesy car at the airport, no rental cars summonable, no taxi service available, no friendly local Saturday airplane tinkerer offering a quick lift down to the lake, and a vast shrug from the people at the marina. As a direct result, I did not place my order for a nice, shiny 100-foot-long houseboat, I did not spend thousands on accessories, and I did not subscribe to the magazine. Quelle dommage. Because of the grumpy unhelpful desk-holder-downer at the airport, I also did not buy fuel at that airport, stopping instead at a great field a half-hour east of there, where we all had a great lunch, met good people, and topped off the tanks. Gas was cheaper, too. Hmph.
