Thunder Over Patoka Fireworks

The Patoka Lake area year-round marketing association and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources have partnered together to announce, "Thunder over Patoka," the first ever fireworks display to be held at Patoka lake. This year's event will be held Saturday June 30th at approximately 10 p.m. Eastern time. The twenty-minute fireworks display will be launched from the Newton Stewart beach area of the Patoka Lake. Spectators may view the fireworks from the beach area, from their boat on the lake, or from several other vantage points around the lake. Standard gate fees will apply for admission to the lake property. Additionally, Patoka Lake marina will be taking reservations for up to 50 spectators at $15 per person on its Voyager tour boat to view the fireworks from the middle of the lake. Other added attractions include the following; the Crawford county community band will be performing patriotic music from the beach area from 8:30 until 10:00 p.m., Hoosier Hills Marina and Patoka Lake Marina, have also asked their private houseboat owners to decorate their houseboats with lights for a houseboat light show near the beach area to immediately follow the conclusion of the fireworks display. Everyone in the area is invited to spend the day at the lake, on Saturday June 30th. Proceeds to fund this event have been provided by the following sponsors: Indiana Department of Natural Resources, www.patokalakeindiana.com, Hoosier Hills Marina, Patoka Lake Marina, Dubois County Visitors Center, Orange County Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Crawford County Tourism Commission, White Oaks Cabins, Patoka Four Seasons Cabins, www.exploresourthernindiana.com, Jim Uland and family, J&R guide service, Ewing Printing, and Patoka Lake Village.
