Jet Capsule, the Italian yacht manufacturer producing the futuristic "UFO 2.0" houseboat (expected to be available in 2018) that Pierpaolo Lazzarini designed, has revealed more details about the vessel. Check out this video of it!
The houseboat will be powered by twin 80hp engines, and it will use built-in solar panels and wind and water turbines for electricity. All of that power together will help the vessel achieve a maximum speed of 10 miles per hour. It'll be constructed of carbon fiber and fiberglass and will be virtually unsinkable in all rough sea conditions.
In regards to the standard layout, the top deck will house the controls, a hot tub, and a desk; the main level will include the kitchen and a bathroom; and the lower (underwater) level will feature a large bedroom and another bathroom. The main deck is fully customizable; it could be used as a restaurant, gym, or even a resort.
A campaign to raise roughly $1.5 million to fund construction of this vessel is currently in the works.
