Armadia is mainly managed by two boat enthusiasts, Pierre-Luc Coulombe, owner, and his father, Gérard Coulombe, mentor. Together they have over 40 years of experience as manufacturers of pontoon boats and houseboats. In 1993, the father and son designed their first pontoon-type houseboat that navigated on the waters of the St. Maurice River. In the early 2000s, the involvement of Pierre-Luc in the project gained momentum when they began manufacturing the second pontoon-type houseboat. This boat was named super-kit and it was sold after being exhibited at the Toronto Boat Show.

After several years of refining the idea and the project, in 2005 the team hired a naval engineer to improve the current design and create an innovative new product defined as the coastal catamaran. The idea of marketing the product required effort, location and resources, all of which were deployed in order to start a business dedicated to the manufacturer of coastal catamarans, commonly referred to as pontoon boats or houseboats.

In 2010 the project started smoothly and became Armadia. The Canadian manufacturer is just now launching its first elegant and innovative Armadia 40-foot houseboat and is working on the new 45-foot Coastal Catamaran houseboat type for next season.
