The Canadian Tourism Commission just released their suggestion of the top ten places in Canada to take a houseboat holiday at. Seeing as they are personally Canadian, I’d take heart that they kind of know what they’re talking about. Here’s their top ten list of must-see natural places of beauty rife with animal life, laced with fresh lakes and undulating rivers, and embellished with lines of beaches and the occasional winery. As Katie Burke put it in her “Houseboating Up North” feature, “our friends to the North have their own magical hotspots that are definitely worth checking out.” Katie was highlighting her favorite things about Shuswap Lake in particular (which, surprise surprise, hit number two on the CTC list), but you can be sure that this beautiful country has even more destinations to offer the avid houseboater who is smart enough to pay a visit.
