When you think about your next houseboat adventure, does the sound of an exotic place appeal to you? Are you after adventure, glorious sunsets, and jaw-dropping scenery? How about stifling heat and humidity? The Tico Times recently shared a travel story written by Jurriaan Van Eerten about a trip along the Amazon River in a cargo boat. You get the beauty and scale of the unique culture there without necessarily feeling just how hot and sticky things can get. Fellow travelers slept in hammocks and had the chance to explore villages, see pink dolphins, and buy locally-caught fresh fish. You can experience the adventure vicariously by reading it here, and don’t forget to check out the beautiful pictures!
