Houseboating finds us all at different times. Some of us are basically raised onboard while others dip their toes in by spending weekends on a friend’s houseboat. And some of us gutsier types make the jump without any of these precursors at all.
Enter the Wilson family. They’ve been no strangers to boating, carving up wakes on Kentucky lakes with a succession of bow riders and other boats since 1995.
“We enjoy water skiing, wake surfing, wakeboarding, and tubing. We also have a 37-foot Boston Whaler Fishing boat in Florida that we use for deep sea fishing. So I guess you could say we are serious boaters,” Rick Wilson explains.
But houseboating was one thing they hadn’t yet experienced when they crossed paths with Thoroughbred Houseboats at the Louisville Boat Show about eight years ago. Rick and Stephanie found themselves impressed by the obvious level of high quality so evident in this manufacturer’s builds, but they didn’t happen to be in the market for one themselves…yet.
