Man busted for taking joyride on boat

DEKALB COUNTY, Tenn. - A local man hosted several day-long parties for friends on a $100,000 lavish houseboat this summer. But the problem was, police said the boat wasn't his.

24-year-old Zach Hendrixson was arrested on Monday and he's facing numerous charges.

Police said Hendrixson went to Hurricane Marina several times this summer, and took friends out on the boat -- without the owner knowing about. When the owners found out, they pressed charges. Police believe Hendrixson's joyrides caused a lot of damage to the boat, worth more than $10,000.

The boat Hendrixson is accused of temporarily stealing is a Master Craft. Police believe he was able to use the boat because there are four keys that will work in their makes and models. Police believe he got a key from somewhere, found it worked in that one particular boat, and then used it all summer.

Investigators said Hendrixson is also in trouble for stealing from another marina at Center Hill Lake. In fact, deputies say they are looking into five or six other cases where Hendrixson was allegedly stealing from that area.
