Mo-Bros: Brooklyn business gets into the Movember spirit

November 2011 News Tracey Findlay - hornsby-advocate.whereilive.com.a

THINGS are getting a bit hairy around the waterfront at Brooklyn.

The lads at Holidays Afloat and Ripples Houseboat Hire have signed up for Movember - and in the spirit of the event, they donned some weird and wonderful whiskers for the Advocate's photo shoot at their work last Friday.

They have also put a mo on the front of one of the boats.

Movember aims to raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.

Holidays Afloat operations manager Steve Taket encouraged staff to join the "Mo's Afloat" team.

"Holidays Afloat and Ripples recently merged and Movember enables us to build camaraderie between staff from both businesses, have a bit of fun, but most importantly raise funds for a worthwhile cause," he said.

Company director Steve Hayward said the business would donate $50 to the cause for every houseboat booked in November to depart in November.

"We are aiming to raise in excess of $3000 and we are well on our way," he said.
