This Might Blow Your Mind

Talk to any houseboaters out there and you’ll likely find they’re outdoor enthusiasts of varying degrees, whether it’s the admire-the-view-from-the-top-deck type or the dive-in-the-lake-fish-swim-romp-the-outdoors type. In the spirit of the message we’re about to share, we suggest all who fit the latter sit up in their seats and pay close attention.

This year, Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid is going to host the largest hunting, waterfowl sale and festival ever for families and outdoors enthusiasts from October 16-25, the World’s Hunting & Waterfowl Expo and Sale! If you’re anywhere near Memphis, Tenn., you have to make an effort to get out there for the big ten-day event.

Bass Pro Shops announced that this year, there will be an unprecedented lineup of activities and special events for people of all ages.

Daily seminars and demonstrations by the big names of hunting and waterfowling will be liberally interspersed with celebrity-appearances, a variety of exhibits, and activities for everyone from beginners to experts. Key events include the Big Cypress National Duck Calling Championship (expected to draw competitors from across the country), Super Retriever Series (the popular pool diving dog competition), the Monster Energy Supercross Show, and the first-ever Duck Dash 5K Family Fun Run/Walk. The festival atmosphere will also offer local food, drinks and free concerts.

The all-new Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid is itself an incredibly immersive adventure experience, a massive transformed sports arena that’s one of the most unique retail locations in the world.

With an “underwater” bowling alley and restaurant, nearly 600,000 gallons of water features, a cypress swamp with 100-foot-tall trees, and The Lookout, a breathtaking glass-floored cantilevering observation deck at the top of the 32-story steel structure that offers one-of-a-kind views of downtown Memphis and the Mississippi River, you can see why this event is going to be better than ever this year.

“This is going to be the biggest and most spectacular event of its kind in the country,” said David Hagel, general manager of Bass Pro Shops at the Pyramid. “Everyone is invited to celebrate waterfowl species as we inspire more families to spend more time together enjoying the outdoors.”
