Rogue Houseboat Blocks Interstate

January 2016 News Web Exclusive

What happens when a 40-foot houseboat comes loose from its trailer? Both lanes of traffic are well and truly blocked.

The Journal-Times reported on just such an occurrence taking placing this past Sunday, blocking both lanes of eastbound I-64 near Grayson, Kenn. What caused the accident? According to Carter County sheriff’s deputies, the truck towing the houseboat to West Virginia was struck with a broken axle, which caused the houseboat’s seperation. With no injuries to report, the problem was cleared up in four hours and everyone was on their way, so the good news is this story has a good ending.
